Characteristics:
 | Gentle Yoga |
 | The word "Kripalu" means compassion. |
 | blends the physical postures of hatha yoga with the contemplative
meditation of raja yoga |
 | Strong emphasis on breath awareness and breathing techniques |
 | Kripalu Yoga is a meditative form of hatha yoga whose fundamental goal
is to develop deep states of concentration. |
 | Attention in postures will be guided to increasingly subtle objects of
focus, including prana, breath, sensations and feelings. |
 | This inner focus will be combined with long holdings and the
development of witness consciousness on the mat. |
 | Meditation-in-motion naturally develops out of these practices, and
features a complete surrender into the spontaneous wisdom of the body. |
